Mediterranean Chicken
for You & Your Husky
One basket. Two plates. Zero compromise on flavor — or on Luna.
Some nights, dinner is for two — and one of us has four paws, a dramatic howl, and zero patience for Mediterranean spices.
If you have a Siberian Husky, you already know: they are very aware of what’s happening in the kitchen. Luna doesn’t miss a move. So rather than feel guilty about a beautifully spiced oregano-paprika chicken breast, why not just cook for both of you at the same time?
This is one cook session — same air fryer, same protein, same timing. Your portion gets the full Mediterranean treatment. Luna’s comes out plain, safe, and honestly? Still delicious by dog standards.
Dogs cannot have garlic, onion, lemon, paprika, cumin, or salt. Luna’s chicken goes in completely unseasoned — no oil, no spice, nothing. Separate it before you touch any seasoning.
Your Plate
- 1 chicken breast
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp cumin
- ½ tsp salt + pepper
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 zucchini + cherry tomatoes
Luna’s Plate
- 1 chicken breast — plain
- No oil
- No spices
- No salt
- No lemon
- Nothing else
- Cool completely before serving
- 150–200g portion for a husky
Before touching any seasoning, set one chicken breast aside. This is hers. Do not add oil, spice, or anything else.
Coat with olive oil and rub with oregano, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Squeeze lemon over the top. Let sit 5 minutes while the air fryer preheats to 190°C.
Air fry plain chicken breast at 190°C for 18 minutes, flipping at 9 minutes. Remove and set aside to cool completely — she eats it cold.
Add seasoned chicken breast with sliced zucchini and cherry tomatoes around it. Cook at 200°C for 16–18 minutes, flipping the chicken at 9 minutes. Veg should be slightly charred at the edges.
Rest your chicken 3–4 minutes before slicing. Plate with the roasted veg and a drizzle of olive oil. Optional: a spoonful of Greek yogurt on the side for extra protein.
“Luna gets hers plain. You get the full Mediterranean treatment. Everyone wins — except the zucchini.”
Why plain chicken is actually great for huskies
Huskies are working dogs with sensitive digestive systems. Plain air-fried chicken breast is one of the cleanest proteins you can give them — lean, high-protein, easy to digest, with no added fat or sodium. It’s a fantastic meal topper or treat, especially after a workout or a long walk.
A 150–200g portion is appropriate for a typical adult Siberian Husky as a supplement to her regular food. Always let it cool fully before serving — no impatient taste-tests.
There is something quietly satisfying about cooking for the two of you at the same time. One basket, minimal washing up, and a husky who has been watching you the entire time finally getting her moment.
You eat well. Luna eats well. The evening is sorted.
